The stately Jaipur House is the location for the National Gallery of Modern Art. On display are paintings, sculpture and graphic art dating from the mid 19th century to today.

All the well known an present, are exhibited here. There works by Raja Ravi Varma. The school is represented by Abanindranath Tagore, especially his Advent of the Rainy Season, Twilight and Landscape: Nandalal Bose, Ramkumar Kinkar, Rabindranash Tagore, Binod Behari Mukherjee among others.

On view also are Amrita Shergill's Self Portrait, Two women, Musicians, Bathers andJamini Roy's Krishna and Balarama, Kirian, Yasoda and Krishna.

The exhibits also include works by major contemporary artists like M F Husain, Vivan Sundaram, J Swaminathan, Ghulam Mohammed Sheikh and Bhupen Khakhar.

National Gallery of Modern Art in Delhi is situated inside the Jaipur House, near India Gate. This building, the former residential palace of the Maharaja of Jaipur, was inaugurated as the Delhi National Gallery of Modern Art in the year 1954.

A one of its kind institution, it has on display approximately 4,000 paintings, graphics, and sculptures of the modern artists, dating back from the mid 19th century till date. The museum showcases art as it has evolved and changed over the years, starting from about 1857.
