The oldest and the deepest gold mines in the country, founded by the British.

Hills:The summer retreat of Tippu Sultan, Nandi Hills was popular with the British and favourite weekend spot for Bangaloreans.
Chikka Tirupati:
Famous for Vishnu temple, worshipped as Venkata Ramma Swamy in Malur Taluk.
Bethamangala:
It is a small town on the right bank of River Palar. Two old stones worshipped dating back to 904 and 944 AD.
