Day 01: Arrive at Guwahati or city of 'Eastern lights' Drive up Neelachal hill for a bruah with ancient spirituality at Kamakhya temple - an important tantric centre. Get a great view of the sprawling Brahmaputra river (India's only male river)
Day 02: A wonderful day trip to Hajo situated on the north bank of Brahmaputra river. It has become a confluence of Hindu, Muslim and Buddhist faith. A temple is said to contain the relic of Budha.
Day
03: Drive through gentle green hills and valleys to Tezpur 280 kms
away from Guwahati on the bank of Brahmaputra. Day 04: Visit Agnigardh - the scene of blossoming of romance between Usha & Aniruddha and the battle of Hari-Har-Yudh. After lunch visit Da-Parbattia temple with the finest sculptural specimens dating back to the ancient gupta period.
Day 05: Visit Bhalukpong the ancient capital city. Its one of the best picnic and angling spots in Assam. Enjoy dinner with a recital of Bihu music and dance.
Day 06 & 07: Leave early for Kaziranga National Park. It is the world's famous home for the one horned rhinoceros. It is also home to a number of other animals - pangolin, clouded leopard, ganga dolphins, elephants and a wide variety of reptiles and birds. Stay overnight. Take a early morning or late night safari. Drive back to Guwahati.
